Career interest test: your 3-letter Holland code

The Career Interests test in Personality Tests Pro gives you a 3-letter interest code from the six RIASEC areas (Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, Conventional), from 30 statements, about 3 minutes. It uses the 30 activities of the O*NET Mini Interest Profiler word for word, scores them the same way, and links to My Next Move so you can explore careers that match your code.

How it works

  1. Open it. In ChatGPT, say “Find my career interests”.
  2. Rate 30 activities. For each, pick from Strongly Dislike to Strongly Like. Think about whether you'd enjoy it, not whether you have the training.
  3. Get your code. Your top three areas in order, such as "Social · Artistic · Enterprising", a six-bar chart and our nickname for your mix.
  4. Explore careers. Follow the link to My Next Move to see jobs that fit your code, or ask ChatGPT about them.

The six areas

Realistic: hands-on work with tools, machines, plants or animals. Investigative: ideas, research and problem-solving. Artistic: creating and self-expression. Social: helping, teaching and caring for people. Enterprising: leading, persuading and selling. Conventional: organising data, records and processes.

If all six scores are exactly equal, the result says you have broad interests instead of forcing a code. When the top two areas tie, read both letters in either order.

Questions

What is a Holland code?
Three letters for your strongest interest areas out of six (RIASEC), first letter strongest. It describes what you enjoy, not what you're good at.
Will it tell me my perfect career?
No. It points to areas you might enjoy exploring; it doesn't decide anything for you.
Who made the activities?
The U.S. Department of Labor's O*NET program. They're used unmodified under the CC BY-ND 4.0 licence; O*NET is a trademark of USDOL/ETA.
Who is it compared with?
Score bands use a US reference sample, so the result says so.
